Over a year before in early 2015 Justin Wheaton came down to start what would become Berther II. With just a few recorded seeds from that visit we grew onward by exchanging ideas via Dropbox. Adding to and building recordings; swapping progress and regressions from Austin TX to Binghamton NY. Working through the material stock actively generated new ideas as sessions became reductions resembling nothing of their initial form. Justin returned to Austin for the wedding at the end of May 2016 for the completion a year yonder the beginning. 39 pieces total. A lot of them brand new while many others plucked from the past and reappropriated to create odd continuity between all parts; meriting the confusion of what to do with those nuggets of sound that forever seemed to have no place. Short tunes with or without vocals. Drear darkness with conversely tender bittersweet notions. Light electronica folk pseudo-rock Fed psychedelic. Despair recovery acoustics twist not too clearly anything while some do. I'll stop to hear.
